I'm Kam, a product designer and developer in Salt Lake City. I started in animation and illustration, and I still sketch in pencil and paint digitally. That's where my eye for composition and detail comes from.
How I got here
From billboards to brand systems to full products.
Over 7+ years I've moved from billboards to brand systems to full products. Today I design interfaces and build them too, which lets me make decisions with real costs and constraints in view.
I like the unglamorous parts too: the audit, the template, the system that grows with a team over years. I also shoot weddings, portraits and events, which taught me to stay calm, read a room, and deliver on a fixed date.

Art & photography
The work I do for myself.
Illustration
Trained in drawing first.
I studied animation and illustration part-time in college, and I keep the practice up to wind down at night. That training in form, light and movement still shapes how I compose layouts and take critique.
Photography
A second lens on people.
I photograph weddings, bridals and families. It keeps me observant, quick on my feet, and good at putting people at ease.
Personal project
Living Almonds
A brand I made for fun: a line of clean, eco-friendly flavored almonds, with a logo, website and packaging. Flavors include Miso Sriracha, Thai Curry, Mango Coconut, and The Spice Melange, a nod to Dune.
Outside work
You'll find me rollerblading the Jordan River Trail, reading science fiction, or soaking grains for the week. I'm the second oldest of seven, and I stay close with Salt Lake's artist community.
