Blip Billboard’s head of sales recruited me for his start-up, Ruck Delivery, once their design needs increased. I was tasked with creating several webpages to improve upon the main website with fast turnaround times and often only 3.5 hours max to design, revise, and set up each webpage in the Wix website editor. I also was able to improve their initial Ruck Driver app by setting color, hierarchy, and size based on usability for WCAG standards as well as write and design their social posts. Ruck also had me design emails that were previously undesigned and boosted open rates by 25 times from a 0.5% open rate to 12.5%.

Advising on their current driver app, I added hierarchy using colors, type sizing, and layout adjustments. Following all WCAG standards and training their developers on the standards we were able to roll out changes to developers within one month of starting the project.

All colors were swapped with accessible versions like the standard #FFF and #000 were replaced with #F1F1F1 and #121212 for eye strain.

The sign-up process was improved by graying out buttons before the user had submitted a photo. Typography and sizing for hierarchy was also improved upon to guide the user’s eye.

The app menu needed reorganization. Cleaning up the header and aligning and recoloring items to showcase where users were in the app and balancing out the design.

The job board was fine for the most part but could be improved with several color indicators to guide the eye as well as size adjustments and an aligned header for organization.
Ruck became a fast paced, high content design gig quickly and allowed me to push myself and learn to communicate well within the first message and deliver at a rate I hadn’t previously challenged myself with. By utilizing my entire skillset of copywriting, design, web development, and user experience and user interface, I came up with systems that I will use for every project moving forward.
